Once a child enters college, there are lots of responsibilities that have to be faced by the child. One of the many responsibilities is to learn the art of managing their finances. A student credit card can prove to be both a great help but can also be an equal challenge. Most credit card companies bank on this opportunity of getting as many children interested in their student credit cards as possible. College student credit cards are often sought by parents looking for convenience and comfort for their children.
With the intention of getting more applications for student credit cards, credit card companies may offer free t-shirts, pens or CDs, anything that would attract the average teenager to apply for a student credit card or a college student credit card. However, before actually thinking of applying for a student credit card, the student has to learn how to use the credit card, to avoid falling into thousands of dollars of debt, outside their personal school loans!
The best way of getting your child ready to handle the responsibilities of a college student credit card is by applying for credit cards with both your names on it, and having a low credit limit. In this way, both you and your child have access to the credit card, while you get a monthly statement to get an idea of what the child has spent money on. Make it a point to budget a certain limit of money each month, wherein the child has to pay the amount off with their own money if possible. This way, the child learns not to pay for things that they cannot afford.
When choosing on the best student credit card for your child, choose one that has a low limit wherein the child has to be careful in spending money in order to remain in good credit standing. You can choose from either of the many tables and booths that are set up at college fairs or perhaps find the best student credit card with an online search. However, make sure that the company you are considering caters to student credit cards because these companies generally will have student credit cards generally have less stringent credit history criteria while also offering lower interest rates.
When choosing the right college student credit card, look for the company offering a longer grace period so that the child has more time to make payments for their expenses, before accruing any interest. It is always better to choose the student credit card that has no annual fee and a low late payment fee. This is of course to help the child that might face the prospect of incurring expenses over the long term with the card.
When applying for a student credit card, make sure to furnish accurate and true information about the student and yourself. You will have to reveal your name, address and phone number while the student will have to furnish information of the college, enrollment status and the year of enrollment to the institution. If any false information is provided, it diminishes the probability of getting the student credit card as the companies verifies all the information that is provided to them. Students that are employed or who have a substantial balance in the bank proves to be a more likely candidate for a student credit card. However, the maximum credit credit card companies offer students to start off with is usually in the range of $500 - $1,000.
One of the many advantages of having a student credit card is that the student can buy their school books using the college student credit cards instead of carrying money to pay for the them. This proves to be safer to the student. Student credit cards are best used to cover unexpected expenses the student may face. There are also student credit cards that let the student gain rewards for their purchase like cash back or perhaps even gas money for their trips back home!

When you pay your credit card bills, your loan balance, or your medical bills, this information is recorded and sent to credit reporting agencies, or credit bureaus. It is their job to keep track of your credit history and other information about your life, such as where you have lived, where you work, your marital status, and any legal action taken against you. Today, thanks to the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), you have the right to know what is on your credit report.
There are three main credit bureaus: Equifax, Experian, and Trans Union. Each agency has a slightly different report on you because not every credit card company, retail store, or hospital reports your payment history to the same agency. This can be a tricky part of managing your finances, so it’s important to know about three areas where you might get ripped off.
1. Charging for credit reports
The FCRA has established a yearly rule about free credit reports. You are eligible for a free report from any and all of the three major credit bureaus every twelve months. However, if you go directly to the agency, you may be charged for the report. Instead, search for free credit report online and get your copies at the secure website provided.
2. Posting inaccurate information
It is very important for you to know what is on your credit reports. The fact is that this information has a great deal of influence on your standard of living. Because each agency gets its information from different sources, each report may contain different inaccuracies about your total debt, your payment history, or even your legal name. So get a copy and protect yourself from these errors.
3. Concealing sources of information
In some cases, a special report called an investigative consumer report is ordered to evaluate your standing in the community, get personal recommendations, and professional recommendations. You will always be notified when one of these reports is ordered from a potential employer or financial institution. However, once the report is completed, you may or may not have access to the sources of the information, so be cautious in authorizing this type of investigation.

Apart from that, families and members of Union Plus who desire to start or pursue a secondary education will also be able to receive annual rewards to help make studies affordable. In addition, members will also be able to save on their phone bills by using the Union Plus broadband phone service and enrolling themselves in the various calling plans available with Union Plus. Thus, card holders are able obtain unlimited free calls for $199 per year.
Additionally, the Union Plus Credit Card does not require any annual or registration fees. Yet, card holders are entitled to travel accident insurance worth up to $100,000 and protection against unauthorized use of their cards. One of the most unique features of this card is a Strike Payment Protection. In the event that union members are involved in a strike prolonging over a several months, Union Plus credit card holders may opt to skip payments for up to a total of three months. Finance charges, however, will still continue to accumulate. Both conditions also apply to lockouts that last for over a month, whereby salaries maybe with-held and thus, card owners may not be able to settle payments in due time. Besides that, there is also a member advocacy program which indirectly assists members in resolving disagreements, and also helps in managing any Union privilege programs.

A home is the one purchase that everyone usually hopes to make by midlife. The problem is of all the things you can buy in life it is also one of the largest commitments you can make. Many people who do embark upon purchasing their own home realize quickly however that credit can be a major factor. But can bad credit stop you from purchasing a home? The answer is no.
There are a number of lenders out there who will step up to the plate when it comes to loaning you the money to buy a home. Searching for those lenders can be difficult since they are not usually out there on the open market but with a little bit of patience and time they can be found. The internet has made this a lot easier then it use to be and there are a lot more companies who take the time to do these types of loans so just be patient.
The first step to obtaining one of these loans, called “high risk loans”, is to find the right company for you. There are many companies on the internet that will screen your information first and then call you if they can find a lender who is willing. One good internet company for finding high risk home loans is The Lending Tree. The Lending Tree takes your information and then farms it out to banks and loan companies to see who will be the right fit for your home loan. They will then contact you back by phone or e-mail and set you up with the right loan service. Many of the companies who offer this type of service work in this way.
So if your credit is bad, don’t fear you can still qualify to buy that home of your dreams.

Copyright in most works of art, which includes writing, photography and digital images occur as the work is created. To put it as simply as possible, the second you click the shutter button, the resulting image belongs to you.
No formal registration is needed in more that 140 countries in the world, to receive basic legal protection. But regardless, if you do feel that you don’t understand certain legal points, you would be well advised to speak to your legal advisors.
Although the law protects your copyright from the moment the shutter is released and there is no other formalities to be observed, I would strongly advise that you mark every single photograph with the word “copyright” followed by your name, or use the international copyright symbol followed by your name: © - TJ Tierney.
Don’t write on the original image; if you’re using slide film write on the white plastic border. If you are submitting original prints to a magazine photo editor, state that the images are subject to copyright on a cover letter.
When you do sell an image understand the reproduction rights. If you agree to “single reproduction rights” you are granting the magazine or publisher rights to use the image once. If they decide to use the same print in a few months time, you’re entitled to further reproduction fees.
It would be wise to state in a cover letter when submitting images that reproduction fees are negotiated before use.
Don’t ever sell your images as “royalty free”. You may receive an “ok payment”, but the publisher that has paid for the royalties can sell your images to whoever he wants; and you won’t receive a single cent.
If in three months time you see an image that belongs to you on the cover page of some magazine; and know full well that they are in breach of your copyright, don’t be afraid to send them an invoice, adding on a little extra for their cheekiness. Let them know that you know the law and that if the payment isn’t received by a certain date that further action will be taken; you’ll have a cheque in the door within a few days.

Tips to Jump Start Your Level of Fitness
Although January signifies the beginning of frigid weather and shorter days, it also brings you the opportunity to reflect on the year that has just past and offers a perfect time to evaluate the level of fitness that presently exists in your life. If you look back to the past with feelings of frustration or dissatisfaction, you are not alone. Thankfully, each year brings the opportunity for positive change. Change is not an easy process; if it were, we would all stroll through our lives rolling from one stage to an even better one with no difficulty at all.
The fact is, however, that change is a process that takes time, commitment and a tremendous amount of support in order for it to be truly accomplished. In implementing any positive change in our lives, perhaps the most crucial factor to keep in mind is to think of the possibility of such change in an optimistic manner. According to Dr. Martin Seligman, who is a pioneer in the field of Positive Psychology, thinking optimistically is a highly effective way to increase wellbeing. There is direct evidence that positive emotions predict health and longevity. The reason behind much of Seligman’s finding is that optimistic thinkers view obstacles as temporary. They recognize that it is not the circumstance in our live that make us happy or sad, but rather our perception of those events that dictates how we feel and move forward. By choosing to look on the good side of any challenge and electing to believe in ourselves and our ability to conquer, recover and be resilient, there is nothing that can keep us down permanently. This is viewing life through the glass half full mentally. Studies have shown that optimistic thinkers:
• Are more successful at work
• Have better health habits
• Have lower blood pressure
• Have feistier immune systems
• Experience more life enjoyment
• Have more friends
• Live longer than pessimist thinkers
With such optimistic encouragement to fuel you, here are some tips to help you become a healthier you inside and out in this New Year!
1. Make a commitment to the type of changes you wish to implement
in the New Year. Set aside some quiet time to reflect on what it would look like if you were totally satisfied with the level of fitness in your life. This is unique to each of us. After you clarify what your fitness goals are, write them down in a health and fitness journal. Use this journal to record your progress and your feelings during this process of change. This serves to both clarify your emotions as you change and grow and also to get a clear view of the progress you are making. Since permanent change often occurs slowly, such journal entries help us see the progress we are making.
2. Plan what type of exercise you would like to implement. Make your goals specific so you can clearly follow them. Look at your calendar each day in advance and make “an appointment” to exercise and reserve a time for it. An example of this would be, “Monday, January 2, 2006, 8:00AM- walk briskly for 40 minutes.”
3. Take one step at a time. Each day is a new day with a fresh opportunity to progress towards your desired goals. Keep in mind that the process of change takes time and patience in order for it to be truly accomplished. If setbacks occur, use your resilience to reevaluate what you could do differently to get yourself back on track.
4. Allow yourself variety in your exercise routine by mixing up the type of exercise you do each day. By alternating the form of the exercise you choose to do, you not only add variety and keep your workouts exciting, you also develop and strengthen different muscles by cross training.
5. Get support to help you maintain the positive strides you are making during your new journey towards positively changing your life. This could be accomplished by hiring a personal trainer, working with a nutritionist, using a life coach, or simply by recruiting your friends and family to assist you as you change. Such support systems are extremely beneficial in providing encouragement, motivation and also to keep you accountable as you take the steps necessary to help you become a healthier you inside and out!

Many of the poor people who had durom failure used in their hip cup replacement operations are determining that there are complications that far surpass the normal expectations for recuperation. These implant recipients are experiencing a lot of additive pain for lengthier time periods, needing a revision surgical operations and elevated medical costs, and losing income by being unable to work at their regular occupations. Although Zimmer Holdings, Inc. is postulating that that their implant is in no way defective and not to blame for the faililng hip implants, many poor people are filing cases against them and obtaining settlements.
During October, 2008 Zimmer declared that it had reserved $47.5 million to pay for lawsuits they had received. Many doctors aren’t so sure that the hip implant is as good as the company says it is. In Point Of Fact, when Zimmer tendered on-line coaching to doctors in order to instruct them what was supposedly more accurate methods for doing the implant operation, roughly 50% of the physicians refused to take part. Hence, the entire situation proceeds to be stressful for everyone participating, but none more than the hundreds of poor people who are facing revision surgery due to the problems with their implant not staying secure and snug in the socket.
These miserable individuals definitely merit some help and restitution which is the reason product liability lawyers are encouraging them to file lawsuits. hip implant attorneys has been resolving these claims before they go to court. Nonetheless, even if the money they are being offered sounds like a fair amount, in most cases individuals are settling too quickly and with no provision being made for ongoing problems if it happens again. If they don’t wait to find out what cases are actually going to be worth, people may find themselves ending up paying alot more money from their own pocket when further issues or pain return.
For anyone who believes they may have a claim against Zimmer may consider checking into it. If you believe you might qualify, you should probably visit a attorney to find out for sure. Try to find a lawfirm that covers nationally and that focuses primarily on litigation against flawed medical devices. This law firm has gone so far as to setup a special division to uncover the details and handle the claims against Zimmer and secure equitable settlements for their clients.
If your orthopedic Dr. breaks the news that will have to have a revision surgery to fix your Zimmer Durom hip replacement device, get in touch with an lawyer as soon as humanly possible.

Keeping your guitar tuned is THE first step in sounding hot and professional. Tune-up perfectly and THEN play is the order of the day. Tuning tip number one starts right here. Get yourself a decent and well made guitar that naturally stays in tune without constant tweaking. No matter how much you perfect the art of guitar tuning, a cheap instrument will seriously hamper your efforts.
No matter how well you play your latest lick or arpeggio, it won’t sound hot unless your in perfect Guitar Tune Nirvana either! Conclusion: Invest in a good or even great guitar and your halfway there regarding guitar-tuning dilemmas.
To start off, here are 2 simple but BIG tuning tips for any type of six-stringer:
After every sweaty, no-holds barred, gig or rehearsal, CLEAN YOUR STRINGS! It may sound painfully obvious, but this is the biggest guitar tuning problem and string-killer of them all. Some people, including yours truly, can rust and destroy a set of strings overnight, by gigging with them and not cleaning the chemicals and sweat off, immediately afterwards. When this happens, tuning can be almost impossible.
So cleaning your strings is step one to guitar tuning nirvana. This simple precaution lengthens their lifespan, maintains tone AND tuning. Use a lint-free cloth, wrap it under and around each string, one at a time, and wipe up and down, with a slight pressure, cleaning the complete surface.
Use pure alcohol on the cloth if necessary, you can buy a small bottle of Isopropyl Alcohol in the chemists. Squeaky clean!
WARNING: Be careful with this stuff it’s poisonous if taken internally!
Be careful not to run your fingers along the string too, it cuts deep and hurts like hell! I tie the cloth around the neck afterwards (they tend to mysteriously disappear for some strange reason just when needed), and make it a regular habit.
Unless you’re an experienced player, DO NOT PUT NEW STRINGS ON YOUR GUITAR BEFORE A GIG! … hi John ;-). If you must, try and allow about 30-45 Minutes to fit, stretch and warm them and yourself up.
If you have ever played a guitar which sounds fine in the lower regions but goes out of tune as you move up the neck, the answer could well be dirty or kaput strings. If you change them and the problem goes away, then you know. If it doesn’t go away, it could be the guitar intonation. Get a good and trusted guitar-tech to check it for you.
When you put new strings on (if you have a Floating Bridge, do them one at a time, DO NOT take all the old ones off at once), tune them up to concert pitch, then spend about 20 minutes stretching them by hand. Left hand holds everything down at the nut, place 4 fingers of your right hand underneath one string, and slowly pull it out until you feel the tension and gently sort of bounce it forward and backwards, and S-T-R-E-T-C-H…and loosen…and S-T-R-E-T-C-H…and loos…
Slide your hand position up the neck along the string, pull it out at various points and so on, covering the entire length from nut to bridge. Then retune it and do it all again. The first few times the string tuning will drop by as much as an octave. After a few stretch/tune ups you’ll notice it doesn’t drop anymore. If you let this stretching happen naturally, it can take a week or so until the guitar strings stop jumping out of tune every 2 seconds. Your guitar will be as fit as a fiddle.
So adhering to these two simple but effective steps will improve any guitars tuning and even playability. Once you get into the habit of cleaning and stretching your guitar strings and it becomes second nature, you can turn your attention to other important playing points without having to tune up every few minutes. It’s well worth the effort.
Next we look at some Fender Stratocaster whammy bar tips, Lee Chang specials to avoid, and how a humble home pencil can save your guitar life :).
