Top Tips for Choosing the Right Platform Bed Sheet

It was common to have white asian platform bed sheets in everybodys bedroom quite some time back. nowadays you find so much diversity in these bed sheets that it becomes difficult to choose. Bedding was never so beautiful with the vibrant colors, prints and textures that are offered in bed sheets today

Following are some factors that matter a lot when you buy a bedsheet.

Calculate the beds dimensions

You might think that all twin beds or king size beds measure the same, but sadly it is not so. The top dimensions might be the same, but again the measurements differ with each producer. So make sure that you calculate all the measurements of your bed from top to bottom, side to side and also the thickness of the mattress you are using. Often similar beds from the same brand are longer or wider than each other. It is always better to be available with your beds proportions prior to shopping.

Choose your shop

Super storehouses usually stock on branded bedding and their own brands in one place.. Those looking for embroidered bedding or luxurious looking sheets can purchase them from a specialty shop. If you still cannot find what you want, try the online storehouses. In case you wish to purchase regular bedding you can get a good deal at a discount outlet.

Learn about the thread count of

The number of threads that are present in a square inch of the sheet in back and forth direction of its weave is known as thread count. This count is mentioned on the label of the bed sheet itself. A lush grain calls for a high thread count. Dont go for a higher thread count than preferable as the thin single threads will not feel snug. A soft bed sheet has a thread count that lies between 175 and 250.

Choose the bedsheet fabric.

You need to choose such material for your bedding which fits in your budget and is comfortable at the same time. If you prefer wrinkle-free sheets then go for cotton blends or you can buy basic cotton fabrics. A chilly night calls for a flannel bed sheet. For a lavish look, go for satin, silk or microfiber.

Measure the bedsheet

The sizing of the bedsheet you select has to be checked at this point. With the bed size ready with you, check if the bedsheet you plan to buy will fit your bed. Remember that all bedding shrink by 7% when they are first washed. If you have really liked the bed sheets you plan to buy, always invest in some additional sets. They help greatly in case one of the sheets is torn or soiled..

These little tips will surely help you in choosing the right bed sheet for you and make every night a night to remember!

3 Situations Where You Shouldn’t Join The Latest Private Label Rights Site

Posted by admin in Bookworms Den

1. If you’re not earning good income from the other content sites you’ve joined

Have you joined more than one of Nicheology, NichePD, Push Button Health, The Lost Files, or any of the other public-domain / private label sites that have appeared recently?

Are you paying the $24.95 a month for InfoGoRound instead of submitting one additional article a month to get a refund on that payment?

Are your memberships costing you more than you’re making each month?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then DON’T join the latest site. Or join, but cancel enough of the others that you end up spending less money each month. If you remain a member of all those sites and then add one more,
you’ll just end up spending more money in the HOPE of making more. But if you can’t generate income from the money you’re spending now, how is throwing more money at it going to help????

2. If you’ve not fully-utilised the other sites that you’ve joined

OK, maybe you’re making some money by using the content from one of the other public-domain / private label sites. But are you using all the content that you can? If not, go back and use the unused content, rather than getting even more content which you won’t use.

You might sell the reports via pay-per-click ads, or split them into articles which you post to a blog, or add your own content to sell them to multiple niches. Whatever. Just make sure that you get every penny you can out of one site each month before you join any more.

3. If you believe the hype

If you’ve fallen for a good sales page, don’t join. Not unless you can back it up with a good business plan. And, before you ask, NO: “Split the report into multiple pages, add Adsense, and hope for the best” is NOT a business plan.

Answer questions like the following:

* Where’s your back-end income coming from?

* Can you write, find, or buy enough new original content to keep on providing quality information to your subscribers inbetween the hundreds of ads you intend to send them?

* How can you use the products to create or enhance a community of people to help maintain long-term traffic to your site(s) - even after the search engines have dropped you like a ton of bricks for using too much duplicate content?

* What daily steps will you be taking, in accordance with your *long-term* strategy, to USE this content and generate subscribers and income?

If you fall into any of these groups, then you’re wasting valuable money and even more valuable time. Decide what you want, decide how you’re going to do it, and TAKE ACTION. FOCUS!

Find something that you can do with one private label site, work it till you are generating income to pay for your expenses and some extra profit, and repeat it. If you can’t repeat it, then make sure it’s self-sustaining and THEN move onto something else.

Stop joining every trend that comes your way.

Of course, if you are looking for private label content, the next question is which of the many sites you should join. Before splashing out money on joining a site, compare them side-by-side at http://www.privatelabelmatrix.com

Free eBook Publishing Guide - Part 4 - Compile Your eBook

Posted by admin in Bookworms Den

Choosing your File Format

I would recommend you use just two different file formats - one for mobile devices and one for PCs. Remember that most people will only read really large eBooks (i.e. 80-100k words) on their desktop PC. For PCs, I would chose the Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) as (a) Adobe reader is already installed on millions of PCs worldwide, (b) all the major eBook distributors support it and (c) Micosoft are planning to incorporate export-to-pdf functionality in all their next generation MS-Office products.

For mobile, my personal recommendation is the Mobipocket .prc format as (a) it supports more complex e-books that require oversized images and horizontally scrolling tables, (b) the Mobipocket Reader can be used on the widest range of PDAs & Smart Phones and (c) Amazon have recently purchased Mobipocket and are sure to give it greater prominence in the future.

Converting your master to PDF Format

To begin with, optimize the meta-data in your MS-Word document. Access File - Properties from the menu and begin with the “Summary” tab. Enter your title in the “Title” box, exactly as it would appear on Nielsen BookData and Amazon. Put your sub-title in the “Subject” field. Enter your author name as second name, first name (e.g. Viney, David) in the “Author” field. In the “Category” field, I would use Amazon’s taxonomy, so for my eBook Guide, I would enter: Books > E-Books & E-Docs > Non-fiction > General. Use the “Keywords” field to add individual words which summarise the content of your book. Separate them with a comma and a single space. For my eBook I would enter: eBook, self, publishing, Amazon, Mobipocket, PDF, Lightning, Source, eBooks.com, writing.

Once you have optimised the Word master, it is time to begin conversion to the PDF format. With OEM or second-hand software available so cheaply these days from eBay (see panel right) I would recommend you purchase and use Adobe Professional software to do the conversion. Once you have installed the software, you will find that you can simply click on a “Convert to Adobe PDF” icon, which should be the left-most one of the three Adobe icons in your Word toolbar. The macro that follows will first prompt you to chose a filename to save your PDF document under. Use the ISBN (so for my ebook, I used 0955077427.pdf).

The macro will then scan for bookmarks, create pages and process tags before firing up the pre-final PDF file. Check the Bookmarks panel to make sure the macro has converted your Word table of contents properly. Then tweak some of the PDF settings for best results. Firstly, set the “Initial View” document options to “Show Bookmark Panel and Pages”. Under “Page Layout” select “Continuous Facing” and in the “Security” tab decide whether you want to apply any DRM-style restrictions (I leave at “No Security”). Secondly, check the metadata has been translated properly from the Word master and add any “Additional Metadata” (e.g. copyright status). Finally, optimize the file size of your PDF file, using both the the Advanced | PDF Optimizer menu option and the File | Reduce File Size option (which limits the reverse-compatibility of the file).

Converting your master to PRC Format

I recommend you purchase Mobipocket Creator Professional to handle the conversion. Whilst relatively expensive, it is by far the better functioned of all options. Open the installed software, select the import from MS Word document option and browse for your Word master. From the “publication files” screen, the first step is to add your cover art. Ensure your cover art has a file width of less than 200 pixels, a file height of less than 300 pixels and an overall file size of less than 50kb. This should generally be the case when you have set a medium (6/10) file quality to your .jpg file.

Whilst I would avoid the Mobipocket Table of Contents option (too complex) you should certainly focus on the metadata section (as the Mobipocket site has a Google Page Rank of 7/10 and your finished page will rank high up on Google). I advise preparing metadata entries first in a (backed-up) text file (using Notepad). If you iterate the file conversion and build process a number of times, you will find yourself re-entering data over and over again; being able to copy-and-paste from a text file will save you lots of time!

Once you have finished this section, it is time to build your eBook file and test it on various readers / emulators. Select the default build options, run the the build process, then “preview results in Mobipocket reader” on your PC. After you are happy, do a final test on the Mobipocket PDA Emulator. Having tested what you file will look like on a sample of PDAs and Smartphones, do one final iteration of the build process, this time with the “content encryption with DRM” checkbox selected. Your eBook is now ready to be uploaded.

Uploading your PDF to Lightning Source

To distribute your PDF via Amazon, I recommend signing up for Lightning Source International (LSI) as a minimum. In my full eBook (purchase from panel right) I also cover how to distribute via other sites, including Lulu and Content Reserve). To sign up with LSI, click on the “new customer?” link on their homepage, then the “new account” link.

Choose a log-in name and password (both between 6 and 16 characters in length), then enter your contact information. In the “form of business” drop-down, select sole proprietor. Choose your “primary book category” from the drop-down within the “miscellaneous information” section (e.g. professional/technical). Under “total number of titles in print” and “number of new titles published annually” I would suggest entering 2-5 titles. For “number of years company in business” put Uploading your PRC to Mobipocket

Firstly, visit http://www.ebookbase.com to register with Mobipocket. Now review the eBookBase Agreement. Either sign it and fax the form or (for speed) copy-and-paste the content into a Word file, add your signature as a scanned picture and email the signed electronic contract to nting@mobipocket.com

You will note from the contract that the wholesaler price is 50% of the suggested retail Price. As such, you may wish to set the retail price of the .prc version of your eBook slightly higher than you did for the .pdf version (so as to recoup a similar return).

Mobipocket will come back pretty quickly to confirm your application and will point you to a URL from where you can logon to your account online. You should find that you are given the same user-id and password that you originally registered with on the main site.

First select the “Add an eBook” option from the eBook catalogue. Browse to find your .prc file and click on the “upload new eBook” link. Note the default directory for the Mobipocket .prc file you created s is the “My Publications” folder within “My Documents”. The file you are looking for should have been saved there (using “build” within the Mobipocket software) with a DRM security level of 4.

In the Meta-Data input screen, you should address (a) Affiliation URL (leave alone), (b) Title (enter title, than a colon, then a space, then the sub-title), (c) Activate for Retailers (leave checked), (d) Author (put the LastName, then a comma, then FirstName), (e) ISBN (leave pre-populated), (f) Print Book ISBN (put parent ISBN), (g) Language (select English), (h) Main Subject (select most appropriate from the drop-down), (i) Abstract (Max 4000 chars; copy-and-paste from your Amazon “short description” meta-data), (j) Review (Max 4000 chars; this will appear on the site as if it is from Mobipocket themselves), (k) Keywords (Max 100 chars; enter same as you did for the MS-Word metadata, only with each word separated by a semi-colon rather than a comma), (l) Adult only (leave unchecked) and (m) Publishing Date (leave autofilled)

In the file information section, click on browse to find your cover art image in the “CoverPage” section. Note that you are restricted to a maximum size of 50KB and dimensions of 200 pixels width x 300 pixels height. Ignore the “Demo PRC File” dialogue and leave the “Force No Demo file” checkbox unchecked. This will cause Mobipocket to default to an automatically generated PRC demo file containing the first 5% of the text of the ebook.

Conclusions

Choose only the PDF and PRC file formats for your eBook and distribute them using LSI and Mobipocket respectively. Pay close attention to the use of high quality metadata, as it will help with the subsequent marketing of your book, which (together with taking payment) if the theme of my final chapter: selling your eBook.

Top Ten eBook Mistakes and How to Correct Them (Part 2)

Posted by admin in Bookworms Den

Did you know that you already have an eBook inside you? And, like your coach, you can earn thousands of dollars each month?

Even if you are a non-techie like me, you can write your ebook at the same time you write your print book. Or, solve your readers’ problems using other articles and reports already in your files. Expand a two-page article with a story or add other how-to’s.

If you want to double and triple your present book income, check out these mistakes and correct them now.

Part one of this article is available at http://www.bookcoaching.com/freearticles/article-106.shtml.

Mistake 6. You don’t leverage your e-Book for higher price sales.

When you look at the valuable information inside your e-Book and you realize you only make $20 a sale, you may want to investigate putting it into an e-Course. These courses sell for $79 and up. With just a little revising and tweaking, you can set your book up to be a hands-on how to course.

You can bundle several lower cost e-Books and list their singular prices. Then offer a fabulous discount to buy all three or four.

Mistake 7. You don’t add bonus value to your e-Book.

Whenever you put 2-4 bonus special reports at the end of your e-Book document in Portable Document Format, you make your offer so appealing, that many will buy for the bonuses alone. For an e-Book on How to Write your E-Book or Other Book - Fast! an e-Book that sells for $24.95, the author offered these three valuable bonuses as an incentive to buy. “Titles Sell Books” - value $4.95, 2. “Write Like a Pro Checklist.” - value $3.95, and 3. “How to Get Testimonials from the Rich and Famous” - value $5.95. That’s $15 of valuable reports added to $24.95–Total value: $40.00 value for only $24.95.

She put a new link on her Web site “Discounts of the Month.” With a limited time offer, from her e-Promotion bi-monthly offers, she got many new buyers. Everyone wants useful, original information. Everyone also wants a bargain.

Mistake 8. You put too many topics in your book.

Remember, best sellers focus on one main topic. Each chapter must support that subject. When you try to give too much, your information isn’t organized, short, and compelling. Instead of the end all, be all book, concentrate on one “how-to” and give plenty of details to make it useful to your reader.

Mistake 9. You don’t market while you write.

Most writers wish someone else would do it for them. Not in this lifetime! It’s so much easier to put marketing into each chapter title, each chapter’s questions you will answer, rough draft of your e-Book’s back cover (sales letter), the One-Minute “Tell and Sell,” and knowing your targeted audience, thesis and table of contents before you write a single chapter. Knowing these essential “Seven Hot-Selling Points” before you finish your e-Book will have you ready to promote the second you write your last word.

Mistake10. You don’t brand yourself, your business, and your book.

Some people join an affiliate program or set up an affiliate program for others to sell their products and sell many products. As a marketing coach, what I want for you is to think of the overview “umbrella” you can house your products under. Think about your biggest benefit you offer through your service. Think about your book title. Can you put a key word from it into each chapter title? For the book, “Passion at Any Age,” the author put the word passion in each chapter title such as “Passionate Self-Care”. In one client’s book, “Watch Out! Your Relationships Can Be Hazardous To Your Health.” the author included the key words “watch out!” in each chapter title.

The e-Book earning curve while short is important for all writers to conquer. It’s easier when you contact a professional coach or take a teleclass to inform yourself. Stop making e-Book mistakes so you can earn the money you deserve.
