Poker tournaments typically feature big swings in chip stacks over the course of the contest. Once the poker tournament gets underway, the stacks go up and down. As the blinds get higher, the chip stacks grow faster or completely erode down to nothing. When you’re playing in a poker tournament, holding your own in the middle with a medium stack, you must continually remain aware of who is the big stack at your table. If one player has accumulated a huge stack, then that individual might remain chip leader for awhile. But the chips often move around the table, and a new chip leader is established. You should recognize where the big stack is and its position in relation to your seat in the betting order. Besides noting who is chip leader at any given moment, also make the effort to observe the play so you understand how the chip stack leader got that way. Was it a lucky call or flop? Or is this player pursuing an aggressive betting strategy? Were deceptive tactics used? Get a read on the big stack’s style before you go up against this player. If you’re in a multi-table poker online tournament that consolidates and a new big stack joins the table, then you’ll need to get a read on them too. Make a comment about the stack, and maybe a player who witnessed its growth will make a comment like, “Wow, he really got lucky on the river” that gives you a clue about how the big stack got that way.

The pen has finally been put to the paper in regards to overturning the UIGEA of 2006, the law that prevents banks from funding gambling ventures for poker players in the United States.
Since congress has reconvened, a bill has been introduced called “The Internet Poker and Games of Skill Regualtion, Consumer Protection, and Enforcement Act.” Yeah, I know it’s a mouthful, so to shorten it down, it’s been dubbed the i-Poker act.
This is a Senatorial companion bill to Barney Frank’s bill in the House of Representatives, and it’s both more and less in terms of specificity.
It is very specific in the games that it covers: poker online, chess, backgammon, bridge, and mah-jong. But the problem that congress is having is how to define poker for the scope of the bill. The current working definition is any game that is commongly referred to as poker where two players are wagering and playing against each other and not the operator of the game. But this has the potential to be misconstrued similarly to the bingo debacle that ensued after the passage of the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act.
However, in other areas it is very clear in it’s language. Within the first 90 days, anyone who applies for a casino license won’t be denied despite the fact that they took bets in the US prior to the bill’s passage.
Of course this is just a rough draft, but it is one step in the right direction to getting US players back in the market of playing online and not fearing fund seizure or criminal charges. Let’s just hope Congress will act steadfast in passing this with clarity and consensus.

Until recently poker online players did not have the option to “chop the prize money” once the action gets down to a few final players. This is a common practice in live poker room tournaments, where contestants often split the prize money two, three, even four ways rather than play out the contest to a final winner.
In August 2009, online poker site Full Tilt Poker introduced an automated system that lets players broker deals among themselves. The process can only be launched if consensus is reached and all the remaining players agree to the split.
Previously, it was almost impossible to do this except at the site’s largest tournaments with the biggest payouts. Now final tables at the site feature a box labeled “Make a Deal” which players can check. If all the remaining players check the box, the tournament is stopped and a new screen opens where the players can discuss how to chop up the prize money. The Make a Deal interface offers three options: Independent Chip modeling, which uses each player’s chip stack as equity to predict where each will finish; Chip Ratio, which strictly allots prize money in proportion to chips; and Custom Deals, which allows the players to allocate the money however they want.
Any player involved in the Make a Deal negotiation can also cancel at any time during the process simply by clicking “cancel deal” and the tournament automatically resumes. Remember this next time you’re at the casino online.

For some, online poker is a simple state, a game, a way to spend some good time around the time with friends or strangers and play a game in pursuit of money. That’s fine, that’s even needed, in the way of the online poker tabling, especially at lower levels. We don’t necessarily all have to be thinking, analytical players, though many more might be than realize it.
Outside of this exception, all the poker online greats have one thing in common: they think constantly and deeply about the game. Even when they become famous enough that they don’t play as often as they used towhich seems to be more and more common with the pro circuit as big as it is nowwhen they are at the table, each hand is attended to, and thought out, and has a methodology at work behind it.
This is a thing to aspire to. To hold your game where you are working off not just numbers and ideas, but a state of meditation, a state in which small actions can mean a lot and big results can come out of catching them, the bigger game inside the game comes open. It becomes a different kind of event, with even greater payoff to he who puts his head closest to the ground and listens hardest.

The aphrodisiac qualities of Horny Goat Weed are thought to have been first discovered by a Chinese farmer centuries ago. The farmer was herding goats and noticed increased sexual activity amongst his flock after they had eaten the plant. Since then, Horny Goat Weed has been used to increase libido for both women and men, help improve sexual performance by increasing stamina, and also help to remedy erectile dysfunction. It is thought that the active ingredient in Horny Goat Weed is icariin, which helps to promote a man’s erection by inhibiting the enzyme PDE5 which controls blood flow. A recent study by Italian researchers found that a particular synthesised strain of Horny Goat Weed to be as effective as Viagra, but with fewer side effects[1]. However, this strain must be proven through clinical trials which usually take many years to complete. Animal studies using Horny Goat Weed have also found that the herb may be beneficial in enhancing sexual performance because it increases levels of nitric oxide. This chemical helps to relax smooth muscle, allowing more blood to flow to the penis or clitoris. As a result of this the responsiveness of the nerve endings to stimulation is increased, which can make sex more enjoyable[2]. Today, Horny Goat Weed is commonly sold as the dried leaf itself or as an extract in liquid, capsule or pill form. The usual concentration of the herbal supplement is between 5% - 60% potency of icariin, with levels above this reserved for clinical study only. The Horny Goat Weed herb, or Epimedium as it is also known, is native to China, Asia and parts of Europe.

Some people play poker 100% entirely for the money. They look at it like a job: they put in this certain kind of behavior for X number of hours, they will yield X amount of benefit. Even though they may enjoy the subtleties of the process, the fun of the game, for them the play itself is work, a monetary procedure where at the end of the day it is not how well you played but how much you put in the bank.
These players, then, can be relied on to only get involved in big online poker pots with the nuts or very near to it. They will very rarely gamble or put too much into pots when the odds are not in their favor. Each hand is an investment, and a proposition, and to them the more patience and rigorous you are about your play, the more successful you will be.
Often when playing poker online these players will be seated at several tables at once, as they only get the hands they are interested in playing a relatively small amount of the time. They don’t prospect. They want hands. Getting big hands takes time, and so sitting at several tables is necessary to avoid boredom. Watch out for these players. They will eat you if you come to the table without the goods.

If you like knowing what poker online cards your opponents have, it pays to be attentive when the online poker flop comes out. When those three cards are shown, you will find that a plethora of information comes pouring out of your opponents, and seeing what they do and knowing what that means is a big step in playing an informed game of poker. If the flop comes out with a bunch of small cards, like a 2-8-3 rainbow, the game is very different than if it came out Ace-King-Queen of hearts. Reading a online poker hand with a small flop depends a lot on how you play before the flop comes. If you just limp into a hand, and no one else raises, then you have no idea what anyone is holding. With a 2-8-3 flop, the big blind may have called with 8-2 and drawn two pair, which could be disastrous if you’ve got A-K and try to buy the pot post-flop. On the other hand, if you bet into the pot before the flop, you will discourage players who can benefit from a low pot by forcing them to fold their lousy cards. If you have A-K and you place a big bet before the flop, the odds are that you’ve got the best hand in a low flop, and your opponents will be susceptible if you try to buy up the pot.
