Be Taught about the Disturbing Condition that Is Baldness in Blokes

The most frequent brand of hair loss is a progressive hair diminishing state labelled androgenic alopecia more regularly acknowledged as male pattern hair loss that occurs in grown-up male human beings and various other kinds of animals.

In addition, pattern hair loss is also hereditary, and the genetic material is given to a kid from either parent, and not just the female, as had been earlier understood. Pattern baldness in guys is the most universal variety of hair loss, and normally leads to a thinning hairline & baldness on the top of the head. The source of baldness in guys is dihydrotestosterone, or abbreviated to DHT, a consequence of the male hormone testosterone. Another reason of hair loss in males is hairstyle.

Baldness is not only a human being facet. Hair loss is a state of play where there is no hair in the part where it forms, usually on the skull and takes place in both humans and wildlife. Hair loss in men is normal given the fact every guy has a baldness causing factor in his system. Click here for specialist treatments that can solve your hair loss problem.

Baldness is without doubt a spin-chilling thing to stand, particularly for male, where this is more meticulous. Blokes who are not satisfied with their physical form might pick medicine that can stimulate the regrowth of hair cells & help to decrease future hair loss.

What causes male-pattern baldness is when the hair cells begins to get smaller due to a build up of the hormone testosterone & a number of the natural chemicals. What most people rarely grasp is that the result of hair loss are interrelated to a great deal of things that continually have little or nothing to do with hair stimulation or hair loss. Male hair loss, male pattern baldness or androgenic alopecia, is an hereditary form which causes male baldness or substantial male hair loss in nearly 66 percent of all men.

Losing weight without losing your mind

Posted by admin in Medical Portal

Losing weight can be a long, ongoing process and it is too easy to “throw in the towel”, so to speak. This is primarily due to frustrations because of slow results or the seeming lack of results. Keep your sanity in your weight loss goals - learn how to take the little strides to achieve your long term weight loss goals.

1. Make a plan
Do you have a plan? People sometimes get confused by plans and goals. The end result goal in your case is weight loss, the plan is the means you are going to use to get there. While you will undoubtedly have short term goals and a long term goal, they are not your plan. A plan would consist of, for example, eating breakfast; walking a half hour per day; not eating after 8pm; eliminating pop from your daily routine; etc. These are plans that can help you reach your goal of weight loss. If you’ve tried certain things before and they didn’t work because of your lack of commitment then try loosening the plan a little for something that you could easily achieve without pushing yourself too hard. If you have a plan of walking/running 1 hour a day but you think that you might give up too easily on that: shoot for 15 minutes a day & once you’ve made the 15 minutes try and push yourself for 15 minutes more. You’re much better off making a plan for 15 minutes of walking a day and doing it than making a plan of walking 1 hour a day and never leaving the couch.

2. Execute the plan
The greatest weight loss plan in the world will do no good if you don’t use it. That’s where so many people fail is that they want to lose the weight but aren’t willing to take any steps to actually meet their goals. It’s like someone saying “I want to make $5,000 this month” but doesn’t have a job and never leaves the couch to look for one. A job is no more going to show up at your door and give you $5,000 for sitting than you are going to lose weight if you continue to do nothing about it. As was stated above, if your plan is not something you think you can commit to: loosen up your plan to something that is feasible given your lifestyle and situation.

3. See the plan through
Keep on keeping on, stay focused on your weight loss goals, and don’t give up. It is not the easiest thing getting started, but it is a proven fact that it takes 21 days to form a habit. Keep your plan up for a few weeks and you’ll be well on your way to your weight loss goals.

By simply creating a plan, working a plan and staying with it, you’ll soon begin to see results with your weight loss goals. Sometimes it only takes us seeing the start of results to get us really motivated to take the weight off.

Walking for Weight Loss

Posted by admin in Medical Portal

I’ve been watching too much TV lately. I think am suffering from paid commercial overdose.

Everything from juicers and foodsavers to inflatable exercise equipment and treadmills have been on TV lately. Some of the stuff looks pretty good. However there are some things you can do to lose weight that will cost you nothing but a little effort.

One of the best things you can do is simply walk. That’s right, walk. Walking has a lot of health benefits, including weight loss. Walking a mile will burn approximately 100 calories, depending on your present weight. For most folks, walking a mile is doable. Running or jogging a mile is a lot harder on the body.

Studies have recently shown that you don’t even need to do all of your walking at once. If your goal is to walk 30 minutes a day, you can even break it down into 3 ten minute sessions.

That means you can even do it in front of the television while watching infomercials! I’ve even seen video tapes to walk away your poundage.

Here are a couple of ways to get started.

First, buy a pedometer, wear it wherever you go. The steps you take throughout the day count towards your weight loss goal. There is actually a program called 10,000 steps. The more steps you take, the more your body and waistline benefit.

Second, just get started. Go for a walk. If it’s too hot or too cold outside, walk in place in front your television.

So what are you waiting for? Go outside for a walk, or turn on the TV and watch your favorite infomercial and start walking off those inches!

Fat Burning Food For Powerful, Natural Fat Loss

Posted by admin in Medical Portal

Some like it hot, others spicy. No matter how you look at shedding the pounds, nothing is more powerful than a strong natural diet, and some good old fashion exercise. Now with the supplement industry booming, there has been the introduction of thermogenic aids that some proclaim as hype, and others point to as life threatening. Most of the thermogenic supplements on the market are used to shed fat fast, especially in the realm of competitive bodybuilding. Here is a list of some of the most prominent thermogenic aids on the market (and some you may not have heard of), and studies that show their effects:

- Hydroxy Citric Acid (HCA): HCA is obtained from the rinds of the Garcinia fruit of South Asia. HCA does not affect the central nervous system like ephedera or caffeine. HCA prevents the conversion of carbohydrate into fat.

- Inosine: Inosine is in the family of nucleotide molecules known as purines. Together with pyramidines, purines make up the nitrogenous bases, which are the building blocks of DNA. Research has shown Inosine as stimulating enzyme activities in the liver. Other studies show that Inosine maintains ATP in bone marrow and enhances cardiovascular functioning. Inosine also assists in carbohydrate metabolism.

- Choline: Choline is a member of the B-complex group of vitamins. Some of its functions include building cell membranes; mobilizing fat, decreasing cholesterol, and helping the liver metabolize fats.

- Carnitine: Carnitine was first discovered around 100 years ago by Russian scientists. Carnitine is a water soluble substance, synthesized by the liver which requires the presence of other vitamins such as vitamins C, B6, B3, and iron to work most efficiently. Carnitine primarily stimulates the transport of long-chain fatty acids across the inner membranes of mitochondria. (Source: Embleton, P. Anabolic Primer, 1998)

There are a whole list of other supplements utilized by athletes and people wishing to shed pounds. The above list is all well and good, but what about when you have a hole in your pocket and can’t afford to fork out the thousands of dollars per year it takes to shed the pounds with supplements? Are there natural alternatives? Of course. Mother Nature has provided us with some super thermogenic foods to help you shed the pounds naturally, without forking out potentially thousands of dollars on overly priced (and sometimes overly hyped supplements). Here is a list:

- Garlic: It’s not about the breath it’s about burning the fat, and nothing is as potent as garlic. Garlic is a powerful antioxidant against lipid per oxidation. Add some to your food for a strong fat loss gain!

- Onions: Be it red or white, onions are a fantastic way of boosting your HDL (High Density Lipo Protein, basically good cholesterol) levels and also helps lower total cholesterol.

- Ginger: I love the Asian cuisine! Asian foods utilize a lot of ginger. Adding ginger to your foods is a fantastic way of helping you to reduce both blood and liver cholesterol.

- Chilli: Aye Curumba! Chillis are an awesome way of lowering blood cholesterols and triglycerides. Give Chilli a try to spice up your fat burning efforts. (Source: Richmond, W. FIA: Nutrition & Weight Management, 2001)

So spice it up for greater fat metabolism, and save money from overly priced supplements!

Living with Your Diet

Posted by admin in Medical Portal

Recently, I was reading about a diet plan where you throw everything out of your pantry. Although this sounds like great news for the supermarkets, over the short-term, this leaves very few choices for you to actually eat.

Can you exist on salad, topped with Flax seed oil dressing, for the rest of your life?

People believe that they must pay penance for their eating sins. Dietary and exercise torture seems to be good for the conscience and the prescription of the day. How else can we explain “off the wall” diets and “extreme” exercise programs?
Whatever happened to eating in moderation and using common sense? Even if you are eating a “diet cookie,” you can’t have all you want.

If you travel, or eat in restaurants frequently, you have to eat in moderation, space your meals out, carry healthy snacks, or visit the salad bar at your local supermarket. There are plenty of good choices, and it won’t cost you an “arm and a leg.”

When you eat, you shouldn’t feel stuffed after a meal. This slows down your digestive system, similar to the principle of a “log jam,” and you may not eat for six hours or more, depending upon the amount of food consumed. This is a time when your body is crying to go for a walk.

You should feel comfortably full every time you leave the table, and you should eat five or six times a day; three moderately-sized meals and at least two healthy snacks.

Sorry to say, diet cookies are rarely healthy. If they were of nutritional value, I would live on the Chocolate Chip Cookie Diet.

Now back to reality, if you love dessert, you can’t give it up for life. Depending on the state your health, you may have to seriously cut back. Therefore, consult with your family doctor, get a diet that makes sense, and please walk, swim, or exercise regularly.

Are You Considering the Hoodia Patch? Read This!

Posted by admin in Medical Portal

Hoodia gordonii has been used for thousands of years by the San tribe (also
commonly known as bushmen) of South Africa to decrease appetite. The
bushmen use the hoodia by chewing the root while on long desert expeditions.

The appetite controlling features of hoodia gordonii were discovered in the
1990’s when a South African laboratory known as CSIR did a study about the
diet of the San bushmen. Hoodia was tested by being fed to animals, who
subsequently lost weight.

Hoodia works by affecting the hypothalamus, a gland located at the base of
the brain that regulates numerous bodily functions and signals, including
hunger. Hoodia works in the same way that glucose does. However, hoodia
has been found to be thousands of times more efficient in controlling hunger impulses.

There are many different products on the market to choose from. You can
find hoodia gordonii in pill form, liquid form, and spray form. But perhaps
the most exciting new product available is the hoodia patch.

The hoodia patch is applied to clean, dry skin daily. There are no worries
about forgotten doses with the hoodia patch. The hoodia gordonii found in
the patch is slowly released into the bloodstream and works by tricking your
brain into thinking it’s full.

There have been no unpleasant effects associated with taking hoodia gordonii
for weight loss. If you experience any skin discomfort or rash when using
the hoodia patch, simply switch to a different form such as liquid or pill.

When purchasing the hoodia patch or any other hoodia product, make sure that it comes from South Africa. The only authentic hoodia available is
protected and grown on farms by the San tribe, who receive compensation for
hoodia sold. The current patent for P57, the component responsible for
hoodia’s weight loss qualities, is held by the Phytopharm company.

Phytopharm is the only corporation who can sell hoodia specifically for
weight loss purposes, but other companies can legally sell hoodia in patch,
pill and liquid form as long as they don’t advertise that it is for weight
loss.

The hoodia patch, when added to a healthy diet and exercise routine, can
increase your chances of shedding unwanted pounds quickly and easily.

Gary Stephens is known as the king of diet products. After losing over 60lbs with the use of certain diet products, he now writes informative articles and reviews of popular weight loss methods. To learn more about Hoodia please see http://www.hoodiahaven.com

Diabetic Diet Plans

Posted by admin in Medical Portal

If you have diabetes, it is essential that you take special care with your diet. For an adult with Type 2 diabetes, diet and exercise may not be sufficient; they may require medication like diabetic pills or insulin injections as well.

A diabetic diet is essentially a healthy, low-fat, balanced eating plan that helps the patient feel better and more energetic, and achieve some control over the symptoms like fatigue, thirst, blurred vision.

Type 2 diabetes sets in when you skip meals and eat large meals of refined, processed or simple carbohydrates and fats. Starving results in huge variations in blood sugar, and overeating affects your metabolism.

You should eat little but more frequently, and consume foods that will burn slowly. This will maintain your blood sugar level to controllable limits throughout the day, without adding large amounts of glucose to your bloodstream.

Complex carbohydrates are processed more slowly than simple carbohydrates, and help to maintain stable blood sugar levels. So, complex carbohydrates including high-fiber and starchy foods like whole grain breads, brown rice, oats, fruits and vegetables are recommended instead of simple carbohydrates found in cakes, muffins and pastries.

As a general rule, a diabetic diet provides 50% starch, 30% protein & 20% fat in calories. Follow these simple rules: eat only those foods which are on the diet list, do not skip or miss meals, and eat only the amount of food specified.

Measure your food using a standard 8-ounce measuring cup, a standard teaspoon and standard table spoon. Bake or boil your meat. Avoid frying foods unless fat is allowed. Buying special foods is unnecessary. Foods can be chosen from the same foods purchased for other family members.

Avoid sugar, sweets, candy, honey, pie and all foods prepared with sugar. Stay away from high-fat and -cholesterol diets, beer, wine and other alcoholic beverages, and red meat. For weight control, avoid fats, fried foods, sweets, and all foods prepared with sugar and oil.

Master Cleanse: Colon Cleanse Waste

Colonics Greeley Co
Caffeine has many pharmacological actions in the body, including excitation of the nerves followed by a sort of paralysis or depression. It is also known to have widespread interference in various enzyme systems, damage to the chromosomes of the sex cells and other body cells. Thereby it increases risk of heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and hypertension. So it would be greatly beneficial if you can decrease your coffee, tea, or cola beverages but increase your water intake. Coffee and tea are diuretic, so for every cup of coffee or tea you drink, drink an additional cup of water. For that reason alone everyone needs to detox, and diet with Master Cleanse. If any gall bladder symptoms are present then a gall bladder cleanse may also be required. Master Cleanse program is highly popular with celebrities in Hollywood. Detoxifying the body has become an apparent key preventetive measure to all kind’s of health problems, which is the reason why you must be on the Master Cleanse

Why Use Master Cleanse Program
Always take in some form of fiber to help elimination. Psyllium is great as it does not cause any food allergies. Start with just one teaspoon and if that causes no bloating or discomfort, increase it gradually. See more on Master Cleanse at Master Cleanse The procedure works by attracting charged toxic substances in the body and then drawing them out into the water. Apparently this method might only be effective in getting rid of charged toxins in the body which are mostly metals.

Master Cleanse Benefits:
Master Cleanse is the world most popular diet program. Using too much of seemingly innocuous substances like coffee tea and sugar can be addictive and may cause severe health problems over the long term. As I started to come up with an improved and expanded version of Fast Track, I believed that my new plan would continue to offer the dramatic benefits that Woman’s World readers had experienced with the earlier program. But like any good clinician, I wanted to test my hypothesis. So I shared this developing detox program with my own Fat Flushers as well as with more than 100 dieters in Syracuse, New York, under the guidance of a registered dietitian. The Syracuse group was composed of men and women ages sixteen to seventy, all of whom had struggled for a long time with weight loss and healthy eating. So, do start your master cleanse diet today. The standard protocol for certified IV chelation therapy consists of three sessions each of which takes about three hours every week.

Massage Therapy

Posted by admin in Medical Portal

Massage Therapy is a massage session that takes place in a warm, comfortable and quiet area as you lie on a specially-designed table. Sometimes, soft music is played for relaxation. A professional massage therapist with proper training will perform the massage therapy.

Usually, massage therapy is done with the client disrobed. It is, however, up to the individual whether or not to undress. Through the massage therapy session, you will be properly covered. Typically, a full body session includes therapeutic massage on your back, arms, legs, feet, hands, head, neck and shoulders. Depending on the massage therapy technique utilized, your body should become relaxed as the session progresses. Some massage therapy methods include Swedish massage, deep-tissue massage, reflexology, and acupressure/Shiatzu massage. Each of these massage therapies uses variant strokes, posture and pressure application to specific points. Always ask your practitioner about which technique he or she utilizes. In most cases, a massage therapy session lasts about an hour. For optimal relaxation, try a 90-minute massage therapy visit.

Massage therapy is beneficial as it relieves chronic muscular tension and pain, improves circulation and joint mobility, reduces mental and physical fatigue and promotes help in healing, including lowering of blood pressure. After massage therapy, many individuals experience relaxation and freedom from aches and pains due to tension or repetitive activities. Increased energy, mental awareness and improved productivity usually lasts for days after massage therapy. The advantages of massage therapy are infinite. Feel free to contact one of our experienced massage therapists today to begin your road to healing and wellness.

Diabetes and Glyconutrients

Posted by admin in Medical Portal

Today, most people with diabetes are only treating the symptoms. And many medications given to people with diabetes are actually
compounding the underlying cause of the disease.

The best way to manage your diabetic condition is to address the
actual cause. Doesn’t that make more sense? So let’s look at what
type 2 diabetes really is.

The Simple Explanation

Other than the genes you inherited, there are two primary causes of diabetes:

1) a long-term diet that has been high in carbohydrates, and

2) nutritional deficiencies.

Your body breaks down carbohydrates into sugar (glucose) which then enters your blood stream. The more carbohydrates consumed, the higher your blood sugar goes. In response, your body produces insulin. Insulin’s job is to push the blood sugar into the cells so they can use it for energy.

On the surface of the cells in your body are insulin receptors, which act like little doors that open and close to regulate the inflow of blood sugar.

After many years of consuming a high-carbohydrate diet, your cells have been bombarded with so much insulin that these doors begin to malfunction and shut down.

With fewer of these doors open, your body needs to produce even more insulin to push the glucose into the cells. More insulin causes even more doors to close and as this vicious cycle continues a condition called “insulin resistance” sets in.

When your body can no longer produce enough insulin to push the blood sugar into the cells, type 2 diabetes develops. It is simply an extreme case of insulin resistance.

The key point for you to understand is that your energy, wellness and longevity are primarily dependent on improving the sensitivity of your cells to insulin — how well your cells open and close the doors and clear sugar from the blood.

What’s the Bottom Line?

Since type 2 diabetes is really a severe case of insulin resistance, the solution to your condition is to find a way to increase the sensitivity of your cells to insulin and help your body get the sugar out of the blood and into the cells so it can be metabolized and turned into energy. (This inability to metabolize sugar is one of the reasons why most diabetics often feel tired and fatigued.)

The Deadly Effects of Excess Insulin

Your “metabolism” is the food processing and energy production system of your body. It is made up of many extremely fine-tuned internal processes, and can be thrown off by even the tiniest of imbalances.

Insulin is the master hormone of your metabolism. When it is out of balance and your insulin levels are consistently elevated, a long list of deadly complications are created:

* Heart Disease
* Hardening of the Arteries
* Damage to Artery Wallsv
* Increased Cholesterol Levels
* Vitamin & Mineral Deficiencies
* Kidney Disease
* Fat Burning Mechanism Shutdown
* Accumulation & Storage of Fat
* Weight Gain

In his best-selling book, “Protein Power,” Dr. Michael Eades wrote, “When insulin levels become too high… metabolic havoc ensues with elevated blood pressure, elevated cholesterol and triglycerides, diabetes, and obesity all trailing in its wake. These disorders are merely symptoms of a single more basic disturbance in metabolism, excess insulin and insulin resistance.”

Nutritional Deficiencies from Excess Insulin

Science has shown that excess insulin also causes your body to become deficient in many vitamins, minerals and other nutrients. It’s a proven fact that being deficient in these nutrients is directly linked to and a cause of high blood sugar levels.

Chromium

Chromium is essential to proper metabolism and maintaining safe sugar levels. Excess insulin depletes your body’s chromium. In “Protein Power,” Dr. Eades further states, “The insulin receptor, the structure on the surfaces of your cells that actually become resistant to insulin, requires chromium to function properly. Deficiency of chromium is rampant - it affects 90% of the American population - because a diet high in starch and sugar puts a heavy demand on the insulin system to handle the incoming carbohydrate load, and that demand depletes chromium.”

Chromium is critical to blood sugar metabolism and, and as a diabetic you can be pretty sure that you are severely deficient in this nutrient. If you ever wondered where your “sweet tooth” and sugar cravings come from, now you know - chromium deficiency!

Calcium and Magnesium are also depleted by excess insulin, which can cause many problems, as they are critical to over 200 biochemical processes in your body.

Other very important nutrients that excess insulin causes
deficiencies in are Zinc, Selenium, Vitamin E, Vitamin C, Vanadium, B Complex vitamins, essential fatty acids, and many more.

Now that you know how and why people develop type 2 diabetes and know some of the consequences of not controlling your blood sugar level, here are your choices:

You can continue on with what you’ve been doing…

Or you can research the science and testimonials surrounding
Glyconutrients.

Fortunately, your body has miraculous healing powers, is very
resilient and operates in a very intelligent manner. If you give it the right fuel and the right nutrients, it will respond very quickly. Some exercise and the right attitude also help!

The first step is to switch your body from an out-of-control,
nutrient-depleting and fat-storing machine into a clean, nutrient-rich, fat-burning machine!

To do this you must:

1) Restrict the carbohydrates in your diet, and
2) Take the right nutritional supplements.

These two actions are not optional or negotiable! Your body will only burn fat (and properly utilize nutrients) if its metabolism is balanced. Doing 1 and 2 above on a regular basis is the only way to address the root cause of your diabetic problem and balance your body’s metabolism for the long-term.
