The World Cup is just around the corner. Although it is still many months away, you will need to make your plans now for a successful trip You should start planning right away, as soon as you buy your tickets. The World Cup will be held in nine different cities and in ten different stadiums, so you will need to decide which city you plan to fly into. Once you’ve made that decision, then book your flight, because the second thing that will run out after tickets, is travel options. Design your travel around the city you’d most like to visit or the one where your favorite team is playing. Center your plans around that city. Find out what the hotels, nightlife, bars, restaurants and excursion options are. You might want to explore rail and bus and taxi services between the host cities, so that you can follow your team or attend other matches taking place during the tournament. If you can, book your between time activities in advance as well. Safaris, visits to game preserves, swimming with sharks tours are guaranteed to be sold out if you wait until you set foot on the continent. Early booking prices will commonly be cheaper than last minute deals for this type of tournament. You should make your trip to South Africa an unforgettable one. Plan to spend as much time in South Africa as you can, before and after the tournament is over. South Africa has a lot more to offer than world cup packages and football games. The smart traveler will take advantage of all the opportunity that this country presents, by taking in dynamite football action and combining it with the wonder that is the South African countryside. If possible, many travel planners suggest doing a pre-World Cup trip to scope out the lay of the land. This is a great way to familiarize oneself with what is available. Pre-planning trips take the hustle and bustle out of the vacation, making it infinitely more enjoyable in the long run. Remember, the earlier you book your plans, the more money you will save on your World Cup packages.

The recently concluded Chinese Taipei Grand Prix Gold saw the emergence of another powerhouse badminton player from another Asian country - Vietnam.
In the men’s singles final, Vietnam’s top badminton pro Nguyen Tienh Minh crushed tournament favorite Wong Choong Hann of Malaysia in two sets 21-11, 21-14. The Vietnamese entered the tournament as the third seed while Hann, who just finished runner-up in last week’s Macau Open was seeded sixth. In terms of the world rankings, Minh is ranked ninth while Hann is ranked twelfth.
Minh is performing consistently well this year, having won the Thailand Grand Prix two months ago.
The Vietnamese sensation outlasted another Malaysian in the semifinals, Mohd Hafiz Hashim, ranked 15th in the world.
The title win could only mean that Minh is now the strong favorite in the shuttlecock sport in the upcoming Southeast Asian Games in Laos. This region-wide sporting competition will take place this coming December. Before the said event, Minh will take part in a badminton tourney which his country will host - the Vietnam Open Championship this coming October. He’s currently in the badminton courts, practicing for the event with his yonex badminton racket.
As for the runner up, Wong Choong Hann, the defeat means that he failed to break the six-year title drought but the runner-up finishes for the past two weeks earned him a slot back in the Malaysian team. The Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) is considering Choong Hann to represent the country at the SEA Games and other international badminton competitions.
Minh received a trophy and a check worth $12,750. His ranking is also expected to rise after the tournament win.

The OECD has anticipated that the European Alp’s biggest 665 ski mountains could be brought down to 400 by 2045. Dalia Colombo said that the ski holidays industry will hurt prior to that, not from a want of snow just from a general contraction in purchasing ability related to the rising cost of oil.
And what about rising temperatures? Researchers have established that a doubling up of CO2 levels will raise ground temps by 3 - 5 Celsius.
Even so there remain two open queries.
The rate of climate change and the consequences on the local climate.
Several degrees heating in the last 100 yrs has not been seen in the last 1000000 years.
Even during the conclusion of the last ice age 21000 yrs ago the increase of 3 degrees Celsius was over a period of six to ten thousand years.
Earlier than that La Clusaz and Brevent were below glaciers and Meribel was as cold as the Arctic.
Therefore what does the future hold for mid height ski areas domains? Energy squeezes will begin to be experienced by 2015 - 19, with more costs for ski accommodation, airport transfer businesses and ski lift businesses alike.
Presently the bill amounts to 3 percent of gross domestic product. However if the price of crude increases as predicted it will comprise 37 percent of gross domestic product, one can guess the economic downturn.
The French Alps will witness the cost of farming goods going up, flora species will alter due to a change in rain patterns.
Hydro-power will be a valuable supply of power but it isn’t certain that it will be a boon because there will be much less snowfall, more water in the winter seasons and less in the springtime.

In light of the credit crunch ski reservations dropped this season.
Even with excellent pre season reservations coupled with superb skiing conditions.
This fall in numbers follows on from seven winters of continuous growth in the snowboarding industry, and the number of snowboarders went down from 1.25. 1.3 million in 2008/9 to less than a million last season.
Partly due to snowboarders giving the season a miss, while additional snowboarders who’d generally have two skiing holidays, just took the one.
The independent travel sector fell by 15% and a handful low cost airlines reducing the amount of routes to some destinations.
Tour operators witnessed the sales going down by about the same amount.
Nonetheless, the top six companies market share rested at 71% and the French Alps remained the favorite ski destination with about 37% of the market.
This meant that many tour operators cut the total number of catered chalets they operate this coming winter.
Catered ski holidays will surely witness a a drop in numbers due to the fact that a catered ski chalet costs the operator more with regards to chalet chefs and lease if it is unoccupied.
It’s unlikely therefore that we shall benefit from the type of special offers which were up for grabs last winter.
And prices are in all likelihood to increase, prices probably won’t rise much.
Next winter undoubtedly poses real challenges for the skiing industry which is influenced by the effects of the depression, weakness of the pound against the euro, high costs of fuel and high fixed costs for ski holiday companies.
This winter snowboarders will become more and more cost sensitive, which will lead to a reversion of the last years that witnessed a increase in the ski industry.

I regularly hear from a social bowler willing to approach real bowling with improved precision and consistency. If that’s the case, you’ve stumbled upon a key time in your development as a serious student of the game. This “Next Steps” handbook to “Bowling Like a Pro” shouldn’t be ignored. Pros at a local bowling pro shop can help their customers tap bowling potential. It’s no surprise, knock the pins down to win! Just kidding. I admit, if only it were that simple. No worry, we can have you bowling down the right lane.
Most importantly, get a knowledgeable friend to help you purchase the specialized a personalized bowling ball, which will do wonders! Fit is important. There’s a reason its our number 1 recommendation, have your own ball drilled for custom finger holes, and your game will benefit. A precision selected bowling ball can make a substantial improvement in your game. Of course another critical matter is sliding out your final step in well-made bowling shoes which don’t stink like desanitizer
After you went ahead and purchased the right bowling ball and shoes, you’re ready for the second best bowling tip: aiming the ball. As you face the pins, don’t actually aim for the actual pins. Use the markings like a sling shot. What’s the point? You’ll find it more effective to aim for a mark that rests closer. To take full advantage, it should be your habit to begin your approach at the precise location 4 steps from the foul line with every roll. If you do it the same every time you can fine-tune your accuracy and angle.
What about massive hooks on the ball, for their desired pin action? That makes the third-most essential bowler tip. The secret is the ball type. Might be surprising that professional bowlers pack several types of bowling balls to get amazing pin action, according to many factors. Just a bit of caution: intermediates should not try to be fancy, and steer clear of a ball that weighs a ton. A lot of pro bowlers use bowling balls featuring synthetic expert grip. Avoid the temptation, because these balls can make even some well known players look silly. That’s our first 3 bowling tips. Rest assured you’ll find in the August edition.
-Frank Hundley
I play for Team “Pindemonium” for the operation at Bowling Pro Shop down in Cincinnati. I provide advice to professional and amature bowlers on the web and at the bowling center. Also, I gotta plug all my heavy rollers at the finals in Atlantic City. Sorry I can’t be there.
